The aim of the Health Theme is to put health at the heart of the regeneration of Devonport, by tackling the root causes of those problems. Housing, education, work, crime and environment all impact on health and the DRC Partnership Health Plan has been developed to link in with all these other factors.

The key health priorities that need to be addressed in Devonport are life expectancy, infant mortality, the causes of ill health and inequalities in health status. These priorities are being addressed through the promotion of healthy living, reducing stress and isolation, supporting families, parents and carers and reducing the burden of ill health.
