Wayne quits smoking for the sake of his children

0

Wayne Manchip, 26 has quit smoking after 10 years. Here he tells his story in his own words...

"I first started smoking when i was 17 just because everyone else was doing it. I didn`t really like it, i just did it.

I decided to quit because of my children Codie 6 and Liam 15 months. I didn`t want them growing up seeing their dad smoking. I know children copy their parents, so i knew the best thing to do was quit myself.

I saw jane from Quit Smoking at the DRC Partnership shop and she suggested using patches and some gum. The first few days were a bit hard, as my partner was quitting at the same time but it has got a lot easier.

I am amazed at how well i feel - I have loads more energy and i am thinking much more clearly. The best way to describe it is that everything is back in focus. I am now looking for work in construction. I just have so much more get up and go.

Also, my children have noticed and are really proud of both their mum and dad. This makes it all worthwhile".
