Education Theme Support Budget

To provide a dedicated budget for the Education Theme Group to fund `quick win` proposals (a one off, short term use of funding that can be linked directly to the theme priorities). Activities to date include:

• Fruit for children in Key Stage Two. To pay for the provision of fruit for children in Key Stage Two in the 3 local primary schools on a daily basis. Children in Key Stage One already have this provided free through a national government scheme.
  
• Devonport ICT Strategy. To develop and implement an ICT strategy for the whole of Devonport. This includes the access to ICT in the home, at school, for businesses and in the wider community.
  
• Facilitation of the development of a Devonport Youth Strategy A community consultant is supporting the 5 local youth providers in the area to develop and implement their youth strategy for the Devonport area.
