Sail Ahead

This project is run by staff at Seymour House and caters for around 150 pupils (from all local schools) across a two-week period each year. It introduces the participating pupils to Devonport`s unique maritime heritage and environment, and maritime employment opportunities. It provides learning activities linked to the curriculum such as model boat building introducing the different types of power (wind/sail etc), visits to local maritime industries (Blagdons/ Mayflower/ Princess Yachts etc) and trips on the sound and around South Yard. Funded since 2004.
